I used to hate my name. It was so common. So many Jens, Jennys, Jennifers, etc. But my last name is so unusual, and it gets to be such a pain to spell, write out, etc., that frankly after all this time I'll stick with my nice short first name.
This week I lost my last remaining grandparent, my father's mother, at the age of 98. She was a great lady with a great life. I actually wrote about it here.

It's true, I don't really count myself among your number, because I don't really use this blog for much of anything other than keeping up with what some friends are writing. My actual blog is elsewhere. Today I actually wrote something of some kind of substance there, which hardly ever happens, so if you have a few minutes to kill and are thinking, "Wow, what I would love are some reflections by Ex on guitar lessons and general fitness," then this is where to go.

I'm just being silly. But I love this comic possibly more than is healthy, so I'm happy to pimp it a bit.
Also I've just recently figured out how to do anything useful with photos I've taken with my cell phone, so I was just excited to actually be able to share an exciting as-it's-happening photo of my workday. I mean honestly, the most important thing on my desk is the computer (if you're talking about work) or the photos of my family (if you're talking about life in general).
